Web2School: Grade Book
You have a grade book for each class you teach. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE IT!! You can keep your grades elsewhere and transcribe them into the software at report card time.
Think of how you manage a paper grade book: you must list each assignment you want to maintain a grade for, and differentiate between the types of assignments that you have. In Web2School, you will be adding assignment types (like homework), then adding individual assignments (like write a journal.)
Adding Assignments
Start by adding types of assignments. You can always add more later.
- Administration->Grade Book->Configure Course Information
- Select a course by clicking on it (single, not double)
- Click on Assignments
- Under Assignment types, click Add.
- Give the assignment type a term, name and weight.
Click OK. Add as many assignment types as you need. Each semester, you will need to add assignments to create the term.
Adding Assignment Types
Then add assignments to each type of assignment.
- Click on the assignment type.
- On the List of Assignments side, click Add.
- Fill in the requested information.
- Click OK.
Close all open windows. Now let’s add grades to the assignments.
Adding Grades
- Administration->Grade Book->Edit Daily Grades->By Course
- Use the drop down menus to select Teacher, Course, Term, and Assignment Type.
- Under the assignment you wish to grade, put the grade for each student. Averages will be calculated automatically.
Removing students from the gradebook
THIS PROCESS WILL REMOVE ALL INFORMATION ON THIS STUDENT FROM YOUR
GRADE BOOK!! MAKE SURE THERE IS NO INFORMATION YOU WANT FROM IT BEFORE
PROCEDING!
