June Roll-Out

In the month of June Elementary students will attend two community meetings on June 3rd and June 10th.  In the month of June students will randomly receive tickets for demonstrating any positive behavior from the PBIS Behavior Matrix.  Tickets will be put into a raffle can located in the Main Office and 4 prize winners will be drawn daily.  This activity is a wrap-up of our year-long PBIS Roll-Outs.  The staff at Ellis is impressed with the growth all students have made throughout the school year!

Elementary School Roll-Out Information

Month by month :

The September Roll-Out in the Elementary School was focused on Respectful Hallway Behavior.  Students earned stickers for walking quietly and on the right side of the hall.  The last two weeks in September we had PBIS reward picnic lunch days for student that had earned the predetermined number of stickers.  Check out the school bulletin boards for pictures.

The October Roll-Out in the Elementary School is focusing on Respectful Classroom Behavior.  Students will earn stickers for keeping their hands and feet to themselves, listening and following directions and using appropriate words and actions.  PBIS reward days for earning stickers will be: Crazy Hair/Crazy Hat Day, Pajama Day and Backwards/Inside Out Day!  Check out the school bulletin boards for pictures.

The November Roll-Out in the Elementary School is focused on being On-Task in the classroom and throughout the school day.  Students will be earning stickers to be able to choose their Unified Arts activity on Monday the 15th and 22nd.

The December Roll-Out in the Elementary School is focused on Participating Appropriately in all school activities throughout the day.  Students will be earning stickers to be able to participate in the December Reward Days on 12/10/10 and 12/17/10.  Kindergarten - Second Grade Reward Activity will be to bring a favorite stuffed animal to school for the day.  Third and Fourth Graders will be earning 15 minutes of Free Time!

The January Roll-Out in the Elementary School is focused on keeping our school clean.  Classes earned tickets for being Responsible and keeping their classrooms clean.  The evening custodians gave out Bonus Tickets to the cleanest rooms each night.  The classes earned Friday game time in their clean classrooms if the earned a predetermined amount of tickets each week.  Check out the school bulletin board to see class ticket posters.

The February Roll-Out in the Elementary School is to be Respectful to peers and adults.  Students earned stamps by using kind words, kind hands and kind actions during the month.  Students who had earned a predetermined amount of stamps by Feb. 18th received a bookmark to decorate.

 The March Roll-Out in the Elementary School students earned stickers for being respectful in the cafeteria.  Students who earned the designated amount of stickers by Friday earned a Homework pass and students who earned the designated amount of stickers by the end of the month earned free time in the computer lab.

The April Roll-Out in the Elementary School was focused on the NED Show message.  The NED message is to: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best!  Students randomly earned PBIS tickets that they put into a NED ticket bucket that was located in the office.  Four student names were drawn each day and prizes were given.

The May Roll-Out in the Elementary School was focused on Responsible In The Classroom.  Students earned PBIS stickers in order to participate in an outdoor picnic lunch and a grade level kick-ball game.

At the Ellis School we follow a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support initiative.  It is often referred to as PBIS.  PBIS is a school wide initiative that teaches appropriate behaviors.  The three main behavioral expectations under PBIS are:

Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Prepared

The Middle School and The Elementary School each have a Community Meeting once a week.  At the Community Meetings Behavior Expectations are presented and taught through Roll-Out activities.  The Behavioral Expectations are the same throughout the Middle and Elementary Schools but the individual Roll-Out activities are unique to each school.

PBIS Stickers Are Back as of March

The Ellis PBIS Stickers are new and improved!  Students will again receive stickers for appropriate behavior.  Stickers will be collected in student agenda books as they were earlier this school year.  See a picture of the new and improved Ellis PBIS sticker!
