Life Science
We have begun our science studies this year with life cycles. We have learned about life cycles by witnessing the life cycle of Monarch butterflies. Students brought in Monarch caterpillars and we observed the change from caterpillar to chrysalis.
Reader's Workshop
"Good Readers Read!"
We are learning about finding a good spot to read, picking "Just Right" books, and what Reader's Workshop looks and sounds like. From there, we will have developed the base from which we can begin to discuss and explore literature independently and as a class in a meaningful way.
Math
We have begun EveryDay Mathematics lessons. We are getting used to our calendar routine, practicing counting, exploring math materials (pattern blocks, unifix cubes, templates, etc.) and have learned several fun math games already! For extra practice, use the math games link under Parent Places and find a game that will work for your child.
