              Who is Miss Carrier?

I was born and raised in Derry, NH with my parents and older sister, Jill. I graduated in 2008 from Keene State College with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. My student teaching placement was in a first grade classroom at Charlestown Primary School in Chalestown, NH. I gained a lot of valuable information and am currently continuing my education in graduate school at Rivier College. I am working towards getting my Masters degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities. Before coming to Ellis I was working in the Salem, NH school district where I was an assistant and teacher for first grade and kindergarten classrooms. I feel lucky to have had this experience because I was able to observe experienced educators in the assistant role, practice my craft in the teacher role all while learning what I really needed to know from the students I worked with :).

Yes, I am a "first grade" teacher, but more importantly I am a teacher of your children. I not only support strong academic learning, but also believe in children building good character from a young age. I am a strong believer that every child can do anything they set their mind to. I often tell my students that the word "can't" doesn't exist in our classroom because I know they CAN, even if they do need a little help. The reality is, we all need a little help now and then!

I am very organized and enjoy my sense of creativity. I can always find something to decorate or invent a new project. Anything that can make learning more exciting! I consider myself a very positive person with a lot of high hopes and expectations for my students as well as myself. This will allow all of us to have a motivating, challenging and fun learning experience in our classroom. I know we are going to have a great year together and I can't wait to see all the exciting moments it brings!
