Daily assignment...Our class reading goal is 20 minutes per night.  On the calendar of the Book It Reading Program, students are to write down the number of minutes they completed, parent/guardian signs with their signature.  On the last day of the month, students hand in the form to receive a free homework pass.   It is worth a reading grade.   Please note this is a reading requirement.  It is part of their homework.

Our Learning in Math...

Unit 8 focuses on comparing and ordering fractions, mixed numbers, and identifying fractions on a number line.

Please note there is a new website for the students to practice their math skills using the Everyday Math Program.  The students have their username and password located in their agenda.

Homework…Please note, there is an addition to our homework in 3mg.  *****

Ellis School policy is 30 minutes per evening. In preparation for the 4th grade, students are learning the responsibility of completing homework and handing it in.

Each week the home link math packet will be due on or before the Friday of that week.  The student has the opportunity to understand how to budget time appropriately and to learn about being responsible.

The packet will then be corrected on that Friday by the student and to be brought home the following Monday.

The packets are a useful tool to look back and review any skills that the student may be assessed on.  Therefore, you may want to keep the packets in a folder at home.

If you have further questions or concerns, or would like to schedule a conference to discuss your child's progress, please feel free to contact me at the Ellis School at 895.2511 EXT. 201 or email me.
