MEET THE NURSE

This is my fifth year at Ellis School. I have been a nurse for 30 years and have worked in a variety of settings. My first nursing job was at Boston Children's Hospital and from there I have worked at several hospitals in Connecticut, Florida, and New Hampshire. Although pediatrics has been my main focus, I have worked with adults and families as well. I currently work perdieum at Portsmouth Pediatrics on the weekends, where I worked full time for six years prior to joining Ellis School. I live in Durham,NH.

My hobbies are gardening, reading, and trying to walk regularly, and yoga. I love working at Ellis School and everyday I learn something new in school nursing. I feel all my past nursing experiences have been helpful to my role as a school nurse. I love the kids, and hope I make a difference in their lives, while they are at Ellis School.

My goal is to develop a good working relationship with parents, staff, and students. I feel there is a strong connection between good health and learning. My hope is to empower the Ellis Community by promoting wellness and good healthy habits.

Please call me or email me with questions or concerns at any time. If I do not know the answer, I will try my best to find one.

Last but not least my greatest asset to school nursing is a good sense of humor and treating each student as if they were my own child.

I am now on the board for the NHSNA (New Hampshire School Nurse Association) as a co chair for the continuing education programs for school nurses. The NHSNA was a great support to me in my start as a school nurse and I feel I need to give back to the association. This summer I took the National School Nurse Certification exam and I am now nationally certified as a school nurse.
