Are you ready for the return of Book Bingo? Join us next Thursday (3/5) for this annual Literacy Committee event. We can't wait to see you there!

Don't forget: When we get back from break, it's READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK! We cannot wait to see your amazing spirit and for our guest readers to arrive!

We know it's vacation, but we wanted to showcase some of our favorite moments from before break, including some photos of:
--our fourth graders' chicken eggs hatching as a conclusion to their unit on NH birds and the structure and adaptation of birds. All thanks for this project go to Lee Andron and his Copp Coop Co-Op :)
--Mrs. Gibb and Mrs. Gauthier sharing their executive functioning strategies with their colleagues during Wednesday's early release. Thanks to Sarah Sherman for facilitating this workshop!
--our middle school students supporting our fifth graders during math intervention.
We hope you are enjoying your time on break, and we miss you already!

We are extra appreciative of NH Makers for transforming our room numbers into something we are extremely proud of! Our Safety Team has been hard at work collaborating with Fremont Police and Fire Departments to renumber our school classrooms since this fall, so this has been a long-awaited process and project. Thanks to Mr. Gallant, we have finally turned our signage dreams into a reality.

We would like to thank our families for attending Unified Arts Night on Wednesday. We had a BLAST! Thank you Unified Arts teachers, Mrs. Bolduc, Mr. Fernandes, Mrs. Kimball, and Mrs. Mack for all of your hard work!

It was the 100th day of school for our students yesterday and our kindergarten students continued the tradition of dressing as if they are 100 years old! It was also the 1000th day of school for our fifth graders, and they celebrated by completing several 1,000 day activities.

Mrs. Rosenberg and Mr. Beaudoin represented Ellis School at the New Hampshire Special Olympics 2026 Penguin Plunge this weekend. The theme this year was jungle safari! Thanks to all of you, we were able to raise over $2,219 for the NH Special Olympics. We hope to plunge again with you all next year! Are you ready to jump into the Atlantic with us in 2027?

Class of 2039 Parents: It's officially time to sign your child up for kindergarten with us next school year. We cannot wait to meet you and to start your child's learning journey at Ellis School in September 2026!

This past week, learners in Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Grande's classes closed out their simple machine unit by taking a field trip to the Exeter Bowling Lanes. The owner, Rob, took them behind the scenes to see all the simple machines in action. They also had fun bowling while practicing their math skills by learning to keep score.

Ellis School will have a two hour delay on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Due to the impending storm, Ellis School will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. Any decision to delay or close school for Tuesday will not be made until Tuesday morning. Please stay safe, and go Patriots!
We had our second annual middle school Burning of the Grump this morning. The following is Mr. Asbell's explanation of this tradition:
"I have participated in this activity for over a decade with groups of students. It is a reflective exercise where students think back to the previous year. They remember their lowest of the low. They think back to their regretful moments and biggest failures. They reflect on moments of heartbreak or loss from that year. These moments are the students 'Grumps.' They record them down either in bullet point form or paragraph form. I do NOT look at the writing. This is for their eyes only...We build a structure out of a dried tree, sticks, and bark that resembles a person... We stuff the students' grumps into this structure. We then light up the grump releasing all the negative things from our previous year. Defining those things as past and not our present, and starting 2026 off on the right foot and hopefully relieving some of the weight of the stressors of the previous year."

Exciting news! Our hydroponics class is officially growing veggies! First up: lettuce!
One of our favorite staff traditions is the Golden Apple. Staff award each other the Golden Apple a couple of times a year to recognize each other's achievements and contributions. Last week, Mrs. Kelly presented the Golden Apple to Mrs. MacArthur. Way to go, Mrs. MacArthur!
Have you heard the news about our newest club? After multiple student requests, Ms. Sonia has formed our new Anime Club for students in Grades 6-8. Have questions? Email her at ksonia@sau83.org

Our new Wee Deliver mail program has already brought so much joy to our students and staff this winter. We want to extend a special thanks to Mr. Beaudoin for implementing and facilitating this mail delivery process. We are currently in the middle of a stamp design contest. Students and staff are competing against each other to design the best stamps to represent our theme of the 25-26 School Year: "Make Our Mark!" Please see the attached Google Document for more information about how your child can compete to be one of two winners in their grade level!

We had such a wonderful time with our students and families last night at our annual Winter Concert. Thank you all for attending, and a special thanks to Mrs. Bolduc and Mr. LeTendre for organizing such a beautiful night of music.

We will never stop highlighting how impactful it is for our learners to collaborate across grade levels in our PK-8 school! Recently, Mrs. Clark's class had a visit from an older student, who read a Pigeon book to them! It was a great experience for our learners and our educators!
