Did you know....
that educators are still working during the summer??
Here are some snapshots of the thought provoking and inspiring work our Ellis educators have been up to so far this summer!

Have you seen our new story walk? Ms. Moran worked extremely hard to get these story walks up and running for our families this summer; you can find them outside of the elementary and intermediate playground! Thank you to the Fremont PTA for your support with this project! We love how much our community supports our learners' continued progress and love for reading!

Thanks for a great end of year! Here are some memories from our last few days!

We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Las Olas Exeter and Baked by Brandi for the incredible lunch and dessert for our staff's last day! We appreciate you! Everything was delicious!

We have had an exciting and fantastic couple of weeks!

Please share this flier with anyone who you think may have interest in joining our team for next year. Also, please note that we have an immediate need for a part-time after-school custodian (12 hours per week). If you or someone you know wants to pick up some extra hours, we can be flexible! Here is a direct link to our employment page: sau83.org/page/employment-application

Mrs. Normandin's class had a special Bye Bye Big Eagle breakfast this morning for one of our Big Eagles! Our Big/Little Eagle program is run by our counselors and is one of our cherished traditions. Our older students apply to mentor our young learners, and unbreakable bonds form! Thank you, Big Eagles, for your service and mentorship this year!

Yesterday, Team Good Vibes had Pioneer Day! Mr. Tyler Allen from Sanborn Mills Farms taught TGV about the purpose, power, and care of draft animals, specifically the Devon breed of oxen. Later, Mr. Matthew Thomas, president of the Fremont Historical Society, opened the Fremont Historical Museum for TGV for a special presentation of Fremont's unique history. The museum is open to all on the second Sunday of the month from 11-3, May through October. Stop by to hear interesting stories and view authentic artifacts! Thank you Mr. Allen and Mr. Thomas for a fantastic day!

Did you know? One of our school goals has been focused on adopting more restorative school practices that encourage dialogue, conflict-resolution, and relationship-building. In this effort, we have established a Restorative Practices Leadership Team. Miss. Booth is a member of this team and has spearheaded this effort by regularly leading her students in community-building circles. Want to learn more? Follow this link from Suffolk University (https://www.suffolk.edu/cas/centers-institutes/center-for-restorative-justice/what-is-restorative-justice), where we were able to train our RP Leadership Team thanks to a grant we received!

Last week, Team Good Vibes learned about historical buildings, artifacts, and New England culture during their trip to Strawberry Banke. Thank you for having us, Strawberry Banke!

Our fifth and sixth graders went to the Fisher Cats game today! The kids got to play with robots, make some UV color changing bracelets and meet comic book authors and characters. Some of our students even had the opportunity to yell, "Play ball!" from the field!

Our eighth graders (and their chaperones!) had a blast in D.C. last week!

Our 7th graders had their annual trip to the Exeter River today to test the water and release their trout! They analyzed the data of their benthic macroinvertebrate collection and calculated the water quality score. All were happy to find that the river scored a "good," a happy and safe home for our fish!

The Maypole has returned to the music room! Every other year Ms. Bolduc does a unit on folk dancing and adds the tradition of Maypole Dancing. Yesterday, grade 2 and Kindergarten got to have their first lesson!

This past Saturday, Mrs. Bolduc brought 2 of our top choral students to Dover High School to participate in the NHMEA Southeast District Middle School Honors Festival! Congratulations, Emily and Jillian!

We ended our week before vacation with our annual Pie a Teacher in the Face assembly to celebrate raising over $19,000 for the Kids Heart Challenge! Thank you for organizing such a fun event, Mrs. Kimball!

Before April Break, we had a fun-filled Spirit Week! Days included themes like pajama and superhero days at the elementary level and Adam Sandler and "anything but a backpack" days at the middle school level.
