Ellis School will be closed tomorrow, February 6, 2025 due to the impending weather that is expected to arrive in Fremont in the late morning and remain until early in the evening. The Sanborn Regional School District has also announced a closure for high school students.
The Fremont School District will operate on a two hour delay this morning. Sanborn will also have a 2 hour delay. There will be no AM preschool.
This is a reminder that when we have a 2 hour delay (like today), there is no AM Preschool.

The RISE (Reaching Independence through Support and Education) Program started their "Ellis Rise and Shine Cocoa and Card Cart” this week. With the help and assistance from our wonderful Fremont PTA, they were able to apply for and receive a mini-grant to help purchase a cart and some supplies. Thank you to Mr. B, Mrs. Cote, Mrs. Gibson, and Mrs. Lester for helping with this, and a HUGE thank you to our PTA!

Mrs. Rosenberg
Our staff really enjoyed our secret spirit week this week! We dressed up differently every day and did not tell the students what the theme was. Students had so much fun guessing our themes!

Mr. Asbell and his students would like to extend a huge thank you to Mr. Normandin, our Director of Facilities, for helping them get the aquaponics system all set up in the greenhouse. We appreciate you, Mr. Normandin!
Our amazing teachers in Team Good Vibes organized an incredible Immigration Day for their students yesterday. Learners were tasked with engaging in a simulation of the voyage, registration, medical test, and inspection/interview at our own little "Ellis Island." A special thank you to Mrs. Almon and Mrs. Coyle, our beloved retirees, who came in to help with this event!
Good Morning!
Mrs. Gobeil's class is collecting items for our neighbors at Colonial Poplin. Please see their message below and drop off your donations in the main office.
Thank you!
Mrs. Rosenberg

Students have been learning the complex carbon cycle in seventh grade. They created a model of this cycle that is interactive, visual, and helpful in understanding how carbon moves through the earth systems. During their assessment, students then used the model to help communicate their learning!
One of Miss Booth's most favorite times of year is the Volume Zoo! For this project, students not only research their chosen animal, but they also construct the animal out of items such as cardboard, construction paper, and other craft materials. From there, the challenge doesn't end! The students then have to calculate the entire VOLUME of their creation. Well done, learners!

The best part of our jobs today?
Singing and dancing to "I Love Rock and Roll" with your kids!

Check out some recent activities going on in the middle school!
Our pollinator garden produced quite the harvest last Friday, and students in Spanish have been reviewing their vocabulary skills through hands-on activities and games!

From Superintendent Stack: Fremont families, thank you for your efforts at home in making today a great first day back at school. It is wonderful to see our building come alive with the sounds of our students engaged in learning after a two-month summer hibernation. I'd like to thank Principal Rosenberg and her staff for their attention to details in so many ways at Ellis School. Thank you also to Mr. Normandin and his facilities staff for getting the building and campus ready for today. Tomorrow, we look forward to our high school students going back to school at Sanborn. Next week, our PreK and Kindergarteners will start. Don't forget --- this first week is a short one with no school on Friday for the long Labor Day weekend. Our entire 24-25 school year calendar can be found on our website, and a direct link to it is here: https://5il.co/2ui1d

Our staff has been hard at work decorating our spaces to reflect the Theme of 2024-2025: Ready, Set, Grow! We are so excited to see our students and watch them grow this year!

Good Afternoon,
If you are a parent or guardian of a child at Ellis School, you will receive your username and password information in your email for Alma on August 15th. Once you receive it, we encourage you to log in and explore the new system! For those interested, Mrs. Rosenberg created the following video for you to get an idea of what Alma looks like from the parent's perspective: https://www.loom.com/share/b99a093544154aa7a1a7a2476beb7ea0?sid=ddd864cc-5eec-4254-a010-6219551e68d2
Please note:
-If you have a child at Sanborn, you will still need to create a username and password for Ellis because we have separate urls/logins
-If you do not receive a login by August 19th, please inform those of us in the Main Office so that we can assist you with this before the first day of school
-Alma's mobile app is called AlmaNow. If you prefer to view your child's information from a mobile device, we recommend downloading the app!
